We are looking for an experienced Capital Projects Manager to safely and effectively deliver a programme of capital projects across the Colleges 16 sites. The successful applicant will have responsibility for an operational team including the Programme Management Office (PMO), Clerks of Works and NEC Supervisors. The role will be responsible for effectively sourcing and working with consultants to ensure the effective design and delivery of projects, for developing individual projects through outlineand detailed design stages (working effectively with User Groups), and for the effective financial management of projects within budget.
The post holder will manage the regulatory processes (such as obtaining relevant permits) associated with the capital projects and will be responsible for identifying, tracking, managing and mitigating all relevant risks and issues across the entire project life cycle. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring each project completes in a timely manner solving problems as they arise, and maintaining strong change control systems throughout.At the site-works stage, the post holder will manage the procurement of main contractors and ensure robust systems are in place to monitor contractor quality and safety, and to control change and costs.
The post holder will maintain and produce all operational records, project reports and closure reports as required by all stakeholders, including external Grant funders. Similarly ensuring all agreed community benefits are realised. An excellent communicator, the Post holder will have to work effectively with all stakeholders, working proactively with their Team, the Director, other senior post holders internally, and at relevant stages, external consultants and contractors.
